Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday appealed to her fellow Germans when she encouraged them to work together – staying apart – to reduce the spread of the coronavirus amid new peaks. In her weekly video podcast, the politician referred to the “difficult months” ahead, noting that the state of the country in the coming months is subject to the measures employed now, reports the Associated Press. The Robert Koch Institute, Germany’s center for disease control, said on Saturday that a record 7,830 new cases had been reported overnight.
