Homs province borders Lebanon, where the Iranian-backed Shiite Lebanese group Hezbollah reigns in border areas.

Syrian air defenses intercepted an Israeli attack on the al-Qusayr area in Homs, Syrian state media reported.

A Syrian military source said in a statement Thursday that the raid caused property damage but no casualties.

The IDF said it had no comment.

Monday, Syria says it intercepted attack on Aleppo.

Homs province borders Lebanon, where the Iranian-backed Shiite Lebanese group Hezbollah reigns along the rugged border area.

Western intelligence sources have said Israel’s intensified raids on Syria since last year are part of a shadow war endorsed by the United States.

The attacks are also part of an anti-Iran policy which, for the past two years, has sought to undermine Iran’s extensive military might without triggering a significant increase in hostilities.
